Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

  • Account data: email address, hashed password, sign-in provider (Google, etc.).
  • Profile data you provide: display name, niche, years of experience, expertise summary, sample results.
  • Proposal data: job posts you paste in, generated proposals, edits, send/win outcomes you log.
  • Usage telemetry: page views, feature usage, error logs (no third-party ad trackers).

2. How we store it

All data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with row-level security so your records are isolated from other users. Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS) and data is encrypted at rest. API keys and secrets are encrypted with provider-managed keys.

3. How we use it

  • To generate proposals and analyze job posts on your behalf.
  • To build your personal conversion fingerprint from outcomes you log.
  • To operate, debug, and improve the Service.
  • To contact you about your account or material changes to the Service.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your proposals or profile with other users.

4. Third-party services

To deliver core features, we send necessary content to the following processors:

  • Anthropic API — receives the job post and your profile context to generate analysis and proposal text. Anthropic does not train on API content.
  • Serper API — receives niche keywords used to surface relevant reference sites for your proposals.
  • Google OAuth — used only when you choose "Sign in with Google" to authenticate your email.

5. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. The fastest route is the in-app Settings page (delete account, export data). You may also email support@altproposal.com.

6. Data deletion

Deleting your account removes your profile, proposals, and outcome history from our live database within 24 hours. Encrypted backups are retained for up to 30 days, after which all copies are purged.

7. GDPR compliance

For users in the EU/EEA: we process your data on the legal bases of contract (delivering the Service you requested) and legitimate interest (operating and securing the Service). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
